Heroclix War Machine
This is going to be a bit of a short one. I’m not a Heroclix player, but I couldn’t pass up a mini War Machine. This particular Marvel hero was a Free Comic Book Day 2o1o give away. My local shop, must have had a few left over and put them out this year to get […]
Weequay (Skiff Master)
Even though this specific character never had an action figure made back in the Kenner years, Hasbro deemed the Weequay (Skiff Master) worthy of being released as part of the Star Wars Vintage Collection in 2011.
Captain Jack Sparrow
Pirates of the Caribbean is sailing back into theaters this summer, and with it some new action figures. For the previous 2 films, the figures were brought to us by Zizzle, this time around they come to us courtesy of Jakk’s Pacific. After their Mummy Returns figures, I wasn’t very hopeful. What a better way […]
Name That…Bumpy Dude
This one might be tough for the folks younger than me and living outside the US.
Iron Man (Modular Armor)
At this point, there are quite a lot of Iron Man figures still clinging to the pegs at stores, either from the Iron Man 2 movie line, or as part of the regular Marvel Universe assortments. However, for the Modular Armor version, Hasbro upped the ante just enough to merit yet another purchase.
Clone Trooper (Phase I Armor)
Given the popularity of Clone Troopers, it is no surprise to see them included in the Vintage Collection line-up by Hasbro. Oddly enough, the Phase I Clone Trooper had not been released up until the sixth wave of figures, but the en result is worth the wait.
Mr. Terrific
Mr. Terrific is another of those action figures I pick up without any prior knowledge of who the character is. I happened to see him hanging on the pegs alongside a fistful of the DC Infinite Heroes figures released in the 75 Years of Super Powers packaging, and his costume just caught my eye.
Dusty (Pursuit of Cobra)
Dusty is one of the GI Joe characters I always kind of liked but never owned. A bit snarky, he always seemed out of his element when you would see him in the comics or animated show. “Here’s our desert trooper in the arctic.” Since much of the worlds combat these days happens in arid […]
Ghost Rider (Marvel Universe)
Ghost Rider has always had that seventies comic book feel to me. The lone motorcycle riding antihero who finds himself entangled with elements of the supernatural. To be a popular book in the seventies it seemed like you had to have some sort of other worldly weirdness going on. While not as well known as […]
Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight Outfit)
This Luke Skywalker (VC23) figure represents the character as seen in Return of the Jedi from the time he is captured on Endor to the point where Darth Vader brings him before the Emperor.
Guy Gardner
For all intents and purposes, Mattel’s mishandling of the DC Universe license has pretty much left the Infinite Heroes 3.75 inch line in limbo, and that is a shame, because their figure designs were heading in the right track when the plug was pulled.
Firefly (Vintage)
After thinking about my review of the Cobra Shock Trooper, I realized why I like him so much. He reminds me of the vintage Firefly. Must be the grey camo. Firefly is the “Cobra Saboteur” according to his vintage card. He’s a guy that will sneak in, plant a bomb, and leave. Sadly, this type of […]
Sword Strike Thor
Okay, I’ve never been a big Thor fan. I don’t dislike him. I just never read much about him, unless he was in a comic with other heroes. However, much like the Iron Man film did, the new Thor movie has piqued my interest a bit. This time I’m taking a look at “Sword Strike” […]
Wicket
Back when Return of the Jedi premiered, I remember I did not hate ewoks outright. As a matter of fact, I remember it was something of a novelty for me to think about the technological disparity between the several planets and species within the Star Wars Universe.
