Thank You!
I really wanted to take a minute at the end of the year and say thanks to all of the great folks that have made this a great year for TV & Film Toys. Honestly, I’ve had more fun this year than any other since I started the site. And to start off, I can’t […]
Name That…Dancing Bear
We call our dog Madison a dancing bear when she walks on two legs. Which has nothing to do with this.
Engineernerd’s Year in Review 2011
2011 has been an odd year for me. I’ve kind of slid away from my typical collecting and moved into other lines. A couple of big films have highlighted collecting in general this year. Let’s start with the downside. I’ve been a Star Wars collector for a long time. The line is probably the […]
Errex’s Year in Review 2011
Ever since Hasbro started doing lines for summer blockbuster movies based off Marvel Universe characters, the availability of the other lines I collect suffered a big blow. 2011 for me started by trying to catch up with whatever did trickle at stores from the initial Star Wars Vintage Collection waves. For the most part it […]
Missile Launcher with JFO Spartan
Well, one of the flagship items in the Halo:Reach collection by McFarlane Toys is the UNSC vehicle known as the Warthog. This vehicle is pretty much the workhorse of the UNSC army and it is designed to take on a number of roles in the battlefield. However, this review is not going to be about that piece. Instead, I want to let you know about one of the Vehicle Upgrade Sets released in Series 3 of this line.
Hydra Solider
. The thing that has really struck me about the Marvel movie lines is the lack of baddies for the heroes to face off against. All three of the individual Avengers movie lines have been over ripe with the heroes. The endless Iron Man repaints versus just a few bad guys. Thor had versions with […]
Ahsoka Tano (CW44)
Despite Hasbro Mexico’s best efforts, I still buy the odd Clone Wars figure when distribution doesn’t suck. Case in point, a figure that was allegedly released at the beginning of 2011, the newer incarnation of Ahsoka Tano (CW44).
Muppet Show Sign DIY
This is one of those things that kind of fell off the site when I redesigned it a couple years ago. I really regret that it’s taken so long to get it back. Of course, having a Muppet movie in theaters doesn’t hurt either. Back when my Palisades Muppet collection was still growing, I really […]
Marauder Gun Runner Items (Part 1)
I thought it would be nice to give my action figures some presents for the holidays this year. So I ordered some specific things from Marauder Gun Runners for a few of them. First up is an item they had long before Hasbro did it for SDCC this year, a Megatron style P-38. Now, I’m […]
Wampa (Vintage)
Long before the Special Editions, there was a toy version of the Wampa released. As part of the vintage line, the Wampa was released in a box similar to the Taun Taun. He even got his own commmerical. Appearance: Things here are a little sketchy. Back before his digital enhancement, the Wampa didn’t get much […]
Big Daddy (Bioshock 2)
I don’t play as many video games these days as when I was younger. I tend to play the ones I love to death. For example, I only have the three “Science” achievements left in the first Portal to achieve and l couldn’t rest until I’d found all the secrets in the Tomb Raider games. […]
Steel Brigade
The Steel Brigade trooper must have his fans at Hasbro. The Pit Commando got his helmet as an accessory and the VAMP repaint had one as a driver. This version is more in the classic mail-away colors. Appearance: Much like the original, the new version of the Steel Brigade trooper is amalgam of a number of […]
Thing & Doombot Minimates
While I typically don’t go out of my way to get Minimates, if I can get a good deal on them I’ll pick them up. Such is the case here. The Doombot and Thing were on sale. Honestly, I couldn’t resist the sculpted out version of The Thing. Doombot: Dr. Doom is one of the […]
