Grunt Minor (Halo: Reach)
In the Halo games, Grunts are a type of enemy you’ll see a lot of. Individually, they are not much of a challenge, but in the presence of a leader-class character and in sufficient numbers, they can be quite a challenge. Following the covenant rank system, most of the Grunt troops are labeled as Minors and are easily identifiable in the field by the color of their gear.
Cobra Trooper (GI Joe: Renegades)
I’ve reviewed a number of the Renegades over the past few weeks, but what about Cobra? Don’t worry dear reader, Hasbro provided us with a generic style Cobra trooper to face off against those average joes. Appearance: This version of the Cobra Trooper is a little less soldier and a little more security guard. I […]
Cad Bane w/ TODO 360 (CW42)
One of the new characters introduced in the Clone Wars TV is Cad Bane, the guy that gets billed as the top bounty hunter in the galaxy after Jango Fett meets his grisly fate at Geonosis.
Spartan Gungnir Custom
The name Gungnir comes from Norse myths, as this was the name of Odin’s spear, reputed to never miss a mark. In the Halo universe, Project Gungnir was responsible of developing the Spartan Laser weapon as well as additional gear to be used in conjunction with the Spartan Mjölnir armor.
Name That…Manhole Cover
I once interviewed with a company that made manhole covers. I didn’t get the job.
Cable
Cable is one of those Marvel characters I could not wait to see made as part of the Marvel Universe line. Was it worth the wait? Well, yes and no.
The State of Star Wars & GI Joe Collecting
When I was listening to my weekly podcasts this week, there was GI Joe in my Star Wars and Star Wars in my GI Joe. At the end of the newest Star Wars Action News, Arnie was seeking feedback on what people saw as the good and the bad in the Star Wars collecting hobby. […]
Tunnel Rat (GI Joe: Renegades)
Tunnel Rat was the character I was most worried about making a translation from animation to figure. Not only did Hasbro do a great job with him. They gave him a ton of accessories to boot. Appearance: This version of T-Rat is quite a bit more buff than I had pictured him. It’s not unbelievable, he’s […]
Rebel Fleet Trooper
The very first time we see rebel soldiers is during the boarding action on the Tantive IV, in Star Wars: A New Hope. Even though Kenner didn’t make an action figure based on that costume design, up until the late 90’s, Hasbro had one version released in the Saga days incorporating the then innovative angled cut-joints for elbows and knees. Luckily, Hasbro decided to re-visit this character class in their Star Wars Vintage Collection, giving us a wholly upgraded Rebel Fleet Triooper (VC52) as part of their seventh wave of figures.
Scarlet (GI Joe: Renegades)
I’ve never been a big fan of Scarlet. But her Renegades incarnation has changed my mind. Both the update to her character and her outfit made a lot of sense to me. As such it only makes sense, that she is the first version of the red haired lass to join my GI Joe […]
Cyclops (Blue Team Uniform)
Cyclops isn’t necessarily one of my favorite Marvel characters in terms of his personality, but the way he is depicted in media always seem s to translate well into action figure form. There have been a couple of action figures made of him in Hasbro’s Marvel Universe line, but the version released as part of the second wave of figures in Series 3 is one I had been hoping to see for a while now.
