Jawa (Star Wars Buddies)

July 30, 2011 | By More

Frequent readers will know that I kinda like the little dessert scavengers from Star Wars. I was even a Jawa for Halloween one year. So finding the Star Wars Buddy version in my collection isn’t a big stretch.

For such a plain character, there’s a ton of detail in this little guy. His body is essentially a plain brown bean bag with a number of things added. The hands and feet are black stuffed items. There’s a bit of raggedy edges to the brown that adds to the worn look.

The main detail on the body is a leatherette belt, with stitched belt. The belt has some flap details and is just about a cute as you would expect.

The ragged detail around the hands is pretty cool as well. It really makes his robe looked worn instead of brand new.

The head is really nice on this guy (girl?). The head is a separate piece set back in the hood. The eyes are nice little faceted pieces molded in gold. They have a good bit of shine to them.

The funny part of about this Jawa is his bean bag nature. I accidentally dropped him on the floor when prepping the pictures. I have to say he reminded me a bit more Jawa corpses Threepio carried around than the ones that haggled with Uncle Owen.

Because I have a love for the little guys, I really have a soft spot for this Jawa. He’s a cute representation of the little  junk mongers. Utini!
