Bounty hunters are pretty much prevalent in the Star Wars universe, although up until the computer animated series we had not really see them actually doing much.
In that particular episode of Clone Wars, Cato Parasiti is tasked to infiltrate the Jedi Temple in Coruscant in order to retrieve a holocron for fellow bounty hunter Cad Bane. It took quite a bit of time, but Hasbro managed to produce an action figure of Cato. This figure follows to a tee the character design seen on TV, which is much more stylized than the live-action version.
Cato has very big, expressive eyes and her outfit has a very nice amount of detail. Her head is designed to support a large visor, made from translucent purple plastic with the edges painted silver, which swivels down to cover her face but still allows for the eyes to show through the lenses.
Cato’s head seems to be rather large in relation to her body proportions, but some allowances must be made for the animated style clawdite. She also seems to be more colorful than her realistically-styled compatriot, Zam Wesell. Cato is also very thin, but her articulation is fairly well integrated into the armor design. The articulation points on Cato are:
• Pegged hinge shoulders.
• Pegged hinge elbows.
• Swivel wrists.
• Floating torso.
• Swivel hips.
•Pegged hinge knees.
• Ball jointed ankles.
Due to the way greaves were designed, the range of movement at her ankles is rather limited, and she always has a fairly wide stance, but the level of articulation is pretty good.
One aspect where Cato Parasiti shines is the paintjob. The color palette is effective, and displays a nice contrast between the clean solid colors and the subtly shaded skin tones. Additionally, Cato’s armor and gear display neatly applied markings and lettering in aurebesh.
Cato travels light, armed with only a long rifle made from gray plastic with no decoration. Mind that the unusual grip design in this weapon requires some finagling to have Cato’s hand on it, and even then it is a tenuous grip at best, but holding the rifle two-handed seems to work just fine. Cato also comes with the die, base and stats card to be used for the Galactic Battle Game.
Cato Parasiti feels a little flimsy at times, being such a thin character, but she looks really nice and also embodies the trifecta of being a female, an alien and a bounty hunter, which is something that always scores big as far as I am concerned.
