I've been collecting action figures since the original Kenner Star Wars days. Nowadays, I still collect pretty much anything that catches my eye.
Dark Threat Hydra Soldier
Also known as the Deluxe Set Hydra Soldier, this figure was part of the toy line made by Hasbro for the movie Captain America: The First Avenger.
Gandalf (6 inch)
To finish off this batch of 6-inch action figure reviews, today it is the turn of Gandalf the Gray to be put under the spotlight.
AIM Soldier
If I had to name one character from the Marvel Universe toy line I actively avoided to purchase for years, it would be hard not to mention the 2010 AIM Soldier.
Clone Trooper Draa
Draa was one of the Clone Troopers serving on Geonosis under Clone Commander Gree and Jedi General Luminara Unduli. Draa first appeared in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars second season episode Weapons Factory, although he was never referred to by name during the episode.
Thorin Oakenshield (6 inch)
One thing I find really interesting about the figures made by The Bridge Direct is that each character scupt is the exact same regardless of scale, and then blown up or shrinked down for each line segment.
Ghost Rider (Redux)
I have never read a Ghost Rider comic. My exposure to the character is mostly limited to the 200X movies and the rare cameo on the few Marvel Comics titles I read sporadically.
Tauriel (6 inch)
Since The Bridge Direct delayed the release of the second wave of 4-inch action figures for The Hobbit, I went back and tracked a few of the 6-inch ones. The one I’ll be reviewing today is Tauriel.
Mysterio
There was one particular episode that got aired repeatedly on local TV, featuring Mysterio, whose image got pretty much branded into my brain.
General Grievous (Battle Damage)
Even though Hasbro did release General Grievous more than once in the animated-style Clone Wars line, it was one of those characters I didn’t felt like paying the whole price for.
Bilbo Baggins (6 inch)
About a year ago, I was pretty excited about the offerings from The Bridge Direct based on the movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Silver Surfer
If you recall, Silver Surfer was one of the characters released right at the start of the Marvel Universe line, back in 2009, and the same figure was also released the following year alongside his master Galactus.
Aquaman
It has been quite a while since I reviewed anything I liked from the DC universe, but last Christmas I got me one of those Injustice: Gods Among Us figure 2-packs.
Hogun
Hogun was part of the second wave of figures that never really got significantly distributed in Mexico City, so I didn’t hesitate to pick him up at a local bazaar.
Greedo (Black Series)
Well, Greedo is one of the few Star Wars characters I would buy sight, no matter neither the scale nor the maker. Hasbro was wise to include him in the second wave of 6-inch figures in their Black Series.
ODST Drop Pods (Micro Ops)
Being an Halo fan and a recovering wargamer, I was aware that McFarlane Toys had come up with a line of miniatures called Micro Ops, but as a whole, I found these sets to be way overpriced at the time of their release.
Exosphere Armor Iron Man
Exospheric Armor Iron Man is, fundamentally, a repaint of the Mark VI armor we got in the first few waves from the Iron Man 2 line.
Reactor Shift Iron Man
I was sorting out my collection the other day, and then I realized I never got the regular, non-light-gimmick Iron Man Mark VI armor, which is odd since those have been sitting forever at discount stores.
Ezio Auditore (Legendary Assassin)
Today’s review will be about the main character in the Assassin’s Creed series of games, none other than Ezio, Auditore Da Firenze in his Legendary Assassin garb.
Thor (Blob Series)
One of the characters produced for the second wave in the Hasbro–made Marvel Legends line was Thor. But not just Classic Thor, but the bearded, Lord of Asgard version inspired by artist Walt Simonson’s run in the Thor comic books.
Heimdall
Heimdall has a rather distinctive character design. The armor seems designed to be more ceremonial than utilitarian, and the overall appearance is not quite as Asgardian as one would expect.
