Iron Patriot

Iron Patriot

This Iron Patriot was the figure I wanted the least back when Hasbro released the first half of the Iron Man Legends line, to the point that I’d wait until the second half of the wave was released before deciding if I could be bothered to complete the BAF.

Darth Maul with Sith Speeder (Jedi Force)

Darth Maul with Sith Speeder (Jedi Force)

I am quite enthralled by the rebooted Jedi Force line by Hasbro. I find that in general, the figures are very well made and offer a pretty good value, especially the figure 2-packs. One of the new 2013 releases in this line is none other than Darth Maul and his Sith Speeder, which I’ll be reviewing today.

Lt. Col. James Rhodes

Lt. Col. James Rhodes

Well, after I got the Mark 42 Iron Man action figure from the Iron Man Legends line, I knew I needed the Iron Patriot armor also seen in the Iron Man 3 movie.

El-Les

El-Les

Right at the start of the third season of the Clone Wars TV show, we got a look at the training process that each clone cadet has to go through in order to join the ranks of the Grand Army of the Republic.   One of the new characters introduced in that episode was El-Les, […]

Storm Surge Armor Iron Man

Storm Surge Armor Iron Man

Well, today I’ll be reviewing yet another Iron Man action figure that I find to be more deserving of being a part of your collection than any of the current 4-inch Iron Man 3 offerings by Hasbro, even though it is a repaint of a figure we got a couple of years back.

Destroyer Droid (Clone Wars)

Destroyer Droid (Clone Wars)

Recently, I commented on how the regular Clone Wars Battle Droids tended to warm pegs at stores although, I do think that those guys will eventually sell, at the right price point, while the subject of today’s review, the Droideka, a.k.a. Destroyer Droid may be a harder sale.

Iron Man Mark 42

Iron Man Mark 42

Well, avoiding the 4-inch Assemblers and the even cheaper single carded Iron Man figures was easier than I thought. These will eventually drop in price to a point where I may consider buying one or two just for archival purposes, but the one figure I could not let slip by is the 6-inch version of the latest Iron Man 3 armor.

Archangel (Marvel Legends)

Archangel (Marvel Legends)

Well, after completing the Build-A-Figure from the Hit Monkey wave in Hasbro’s 2013 Marvel Legends assortment, I would not need to get any of the other figures which don’t have any extra piece packaged with them, Right?

Battle Droid (Clone Wars)

Battle Droid (Clone Wars)

If I had to name one type of character that consistently warmed pegs at everywhere I went, looking for Star Wars figures, it would be the lowly CIS Battle Droid.   These guys looked impressive in the Episode I trailer over ten years ago, but over time, they became a joke due to their […]

Snake Eyes (Ninja Duel)

Snake Eyes (Ninja Duel)

I have to say that it struck me as odd that even after the one-year delay for the movie premiere, the first wave of figures released by Hasbro for the G.I. Joe Retaliation movie line were not based on actual movie costumes. Some characters did benefit from this approach, of course, but some others were not as fortunate.

Wolverine (Marvel Legends)

Wolverine (Marvel Legends)

Lucky me, the Wolverine released in this series is the one attired in the X-Force uniform, which is fundamentally his Astonishing costume with the yellow bits replaced by gray, or in this case, a slightly blue-ish silver color.

Dr. Evazan

Dr. Evazan

Well, let me be frank here by saying that, back in the 70’s, I never really remembered how the guy that was about to pick a fight with Luke in the cantina scene looked like.

Dark Ninja (Retaliation)

Well, one thing that the G.I. Joe Retaliation movie had in spades were ninjas, so it stand to reason that the toy line should also have it’s fill of the stealthy warriors.

Well, oddly enough, one figure I was missing in my Marvel Universe collection until a few weeks ago was precisely the first ever Iron Man suit released in this line.

R2-D2 (Clone Wars)

R2-D2 (Clone Wars)

One character I just don’t get figures of that often is R2-D2. It is not that I don’t like him, quite the contrary, but I just don’t see the need to get every variation Hasbro makes once I have a perfectly good version of the droid.

Protector (Marvel Legends)

Protector (Marvel Legends)

The third figure I picked up from the Hit Monkey wave of figures is Protector. Again, this is a character I don’t really know much about, but I do remember seeing him (or someone attired like him) in an episode of Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, so I knew he is supposed to be some sort of Kree alien.

Alley Viper (Retaliation)

Alley Viper (Retaliation)

Well, the second G.I. Joe movie came and went, and the only good thing I have to say about it is that at least I got a few cool toys inspired by it, even if the Alley Viper I’m reviewing today did not really appear on screen.

Guardian

Guardian

Guardian’s costume is a deceptively simple one, consisting basically in a skin-tight attire with a cowl, with a color scheme patterned after the Canadian flag. The only original piece of sculpting is the head, which is well detailed, although a little bit on the generic side of things.
