Orrimaarko

I never had the original Kenner Prune Face figure and even though I did get the POTF2 release, the whole nostalgia factor is nowhere near as strong on me as it is with other characters from the Original Trilogy

Nien Nunb

Nien Nunb

Nien Nunb has been as iconic an alien character for me as any from the Original Star Wars Trilogy but. Is this figure a definite must have? Read on…

501st Legion Clone Trooper

501st Legion Clone Trooper

Well, even though this figure was released sometime last year, Hasbro saw fit to include the 501st Legion Clone Trooper (VC60) in the “Greatest Hits” wave in the now-paused Star Wars Vintage Collection, which recently afforded me the chance to add it to my collection.

Aayla Secura

Aayla Secura

Aayla Secura is one of the few characters in the prequels that had always come out looking gorgeous in action figure form.

Kithaba

Kithaba

Kithaba is one of the few characters I had no awareness of back in the old Kenner days. Of course, back then, Kithaba didn’t even exist as a named character, because when Kenner produced the klatooinian skiff guard figure, they sort of meshed two characters by making the actual mold to resemble Barada, but painted the figure in Kithaba’s color scheme.

Starkiller

Starkiller

Let me start by saying that I like Star Wars. And I like video games. And, obviously, I also like action figures, so it is pretty much a given that I would have more than a passing interest in whatever exists in the intersection of those three sets.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Hasbro had given us at least a couple of versions of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi partially equipped with armor over the years, ever since the character appeared that way in the 2005 Clone Wars animated miniseries directed by Gendy Tartakovsky

Gungan Warrior

Gungan Warrior

Even though as a species, Gungans have not received the same amount of toy love as, say, Ewoks, I have always considered them a pretty cool alien race, Jar Jar notwithstanding.

Ahsoka

Ahsoka

Jedi padawan Ahsoka Tano is another of the characters included in the last wave of Hasbro’s Star Wars Vintage Collection. This means, of course, that the figure was sculpted in the realistic style.

Weequay Skiff Guard

Weequay Skiff Guard

One of the last figures from the Star Wars Vintage Collection is one I had been waiting to get for quite some time. The vintage Kenner Weequay was one I really liked from my childhood, because it was one of those figures whose arms were made in a pose that was not just straight down.

Odd Ball (Clone Pilot)

Odd Ball (Clone Pilot)

Even though Hasbro has been producing Clone Pilots in the Revenge of the Sith uniform regularly since 2005, It was until now that we are getting an official Odd Ball figure with that attire.

Nikto Skiff Guard

Nikto Skiff Guard

Well, Hasbro’s new Nikto Skiff Guard (VC99) is a long overdue update to the original figure made by Kenner for the vintage Return of the Jedi toy line. This is important for some people, because ever since Hasbro re-launched the license back in 1995, fans have had the lingering desire to see the complete roster of characters produced by Kenner in the current line.

Darth Vader

Darth Vader

For a character that hasn’t had more than a couple of outings in the Star Wars Vintage Collection by Hasbro, Darth Vader is certainly one that I didn’t feel the need to get once again. However, the latest Darth Vader (VC93) does represent a fairly needed update.

Anakin Skywalker

Anakin Skywalker

Well, as you may recall, back when Hasbro announced a new action figure line devoted to the then new CGI Clone Wars show, one question that popped up every now and then was if there would be figures made from the characters in the show, done in the realistic style.

Well, if there ever was one character I absolutely thought that belonged in the Star Wars Vintage Collection by Hasbro, it is Grand Moff Tarkin.

Luke Skywalker (Lightsaber Construction)

Luke Skywalker (Lightsaber Construction)

Well, it took some time, but finally Hasbro produced the Luke Skywalker figure they should have put out back when they released the Jedi Knight Luke last year on the cardback with the scene from Jabba’s Palace, although this version of Luke Skywalker (VC87) is based on one of the deleted scenes included as an extra for the Blu-Ray release of the original trilogy.

Colonel Cracken (Millennium Falcon Crew)

With a whole half-wave devoted to characters from the deleted scenes in Return of the Jedi (included as an extra bonus in the Blu –ray release of the original film trilogy), it was inevitable that some of them would be generic background characters.

Lando Calrissian (Sandstorm Outfit)

Lando Calrissian (Sandstorm Outfit)

It’s been quite a while since we got a Lando action figure with his skiff guard disguise. Back in the 80’s that version of Lando was among my favorites because he had a removable helmet and that was pretty uncommon then.

Leia Organa (Sandstorm Outfit)

Leia Organa (Sandstorm Outfit)

Leia Organa (Sandstorm Outfit) was released in the second wave of figures for the Star ]Wars Vintage Collection (VC88) in 2012, but that doesn’t mean she’s a truly new product, even if the inspiration for this figure comes from the deleted scenes included as a bonus for the Blu-ray release of the Star Wars movies.
