Clone Trooper Draa
Draa was one of the Clone Troopers serving on Geonosis under Clone Commander Gree and Jedi General Luminara Unduli. Draa first appeared in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars second season episode Weapons Factory, although he was never referred to by name during the episode.
Still, Hasbro decided to make an action figure of him, using the second-generation Clone Trooper body mold. As such, the level of detail is good and very close to the digital models used for the show.
Clone Trooper Draa wears Phase I armor, and the figure does not have a removable helmet. His articulation scheme is slightly more restricted than that on first generation Clone Trooper action figures, but still gets the job done with:
• Pegged hinge shoulders.
• Pegged hinge elbows.
• Swivel wrists.
• Swivel waist.
• Swivel hips.
• Pegged hinge knees.
The only glaring omission are any type of ankle joints, but as a whole Draa has a pretty decent articulation design, even though the armor design itself does impose other limitations.
Draa displays green markings on his armor in the same color as Gree and other members of his battalion, the 41st Elite Corps. The actual shapes are apparently individual to him, and the paint applications are cleanly done on my figure.
On his helmet, Draa has a pair of red icons inspired by the classic Pac-Man videogame that were included in his character design as a nod by the animators of the TV show.
Clone Trooper Draa comes equipped with a blaster rifle, a blaster carbine, a rocket launcher and a functional backpack with an actual fabric flap and a snap-on fastener.
This very same backpack had been released previously with the first Asohka Tano figure, but similar devices had made recurrent appearances on the TV show, so it is nice to see this accessory released once again.
To round things off, Draa also comes packaged with a silvery gray display base, a gaming die and the corresponding Galactic Battle Game card.
I will be the first to admit that Clone Trooper Draa is not a very formidable addition to my collection, but I found the included non-blaster accessories to be actually quite refreshing, and the deco is a nice enough variation to have.
