Millennium Falcon Micro Fighter

Millennium Falcon Micro Fighter (2)When it comes to construction block toys, a good rule of thumb is that the smaller the set, the worse the coin-to pieces ratio is. That did not stop me from buying one of the 2014 Microfighter Sets from LEGO, though.

Out of the initial assortment, I picked up the Millennium Falcon Microfighter set (75030). The set contains 94 pieces, including a Han Solo minifigure, but as usual with LEGO, there are a few small extra pieces thrown in.

The build is pretty simple and fun, producing a small but recognizable model of the Millennium Falcon.

There is a nice amount of SNOT (Studs-Not-On-Top) construction going on with this set.
Of note, this set has inverted disks on the base to help slide it over a flat surface, and the top cannons are flick missile launchers. These launchers need some fiddling to shoot properly, but I can’t really hold that against the design.

The Han Solo minifigure is pretty standard, molded with pink face and hands. The only thing that bothers me a little is that the belt buckle at the front seems to be misprinted, which is fairly unusual with LEGO.

Overall, I am quite pleased with this Microfighter set, and I look forward to pick up the rest of the series.

I've been collecting action figures since the original Kenner Star Wars days. Nowadays, I still collect pretty much anything that catches my eye.
