Théodred
Today’s review is about another of those characters whose selection points to Toy Biz running out of ideas for their Lord of the Rings line, back in 2005.
Sméagol (Stoor Fisherman)
Back in 2004, Toy Biz took a page from Hasbro’s playbook and started to produce action figures from characters seen only briefly in the Lord of the Rings movies.
Gandalf (6 inch)
To finish off this batch of 6-inch action figure reviews, today it is the turn of Gandalf the Gray to be put under the spotlight.
Thorin Oakenshield (6 inch)
One thing I find really interesting about the figures made by The Bridge Direct is that each character scupt is the exact same regardless of scale, and then blown up or shrinked down for each line segment.
Tauriel (6 inch)
Since The Bridge Direct delayed the release of the second wave of 4-inch action figures for The Hobbit, I went back and tracked a few of the 6-inch ones. The one I’ll be reviewing today is Tauriel.
Bilbo Baggins (6 inch)
About a year ago, I was pretty excited about the offerings from The Bridge Direct based on the movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Lego Gandalf Polybag
I have to hand it to Lego. They’ve realized that there are a group of collectors out there primarily interested in the minifigures and have given us ways to get primary characters without having to buy a huge set. This Gandalf came poly bagged around Easter and didn’t hang around too long. Gandalf is much […]
Legolas Greenleaf & Tauriel 2-Pack
Well, for some reason, The Bridge Direct decided to sell this set as part of the first series of action figures from their The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey line, which is unexpected in itself because none of the characters in this 2-pack even appears in the movie.
Kili & Fili 2-Pack
Well, with thirteen dwarves in the roster for the movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, manufacturer The Bridge direct had the foresight to offer some of them in two-packs, like Balin & Dwalin or the subjects of today’s review, dwarves Fili & Kili.
Dwalin & Balin 2-Pack
Balin and Dwalin, sons of Fundin are probably two of the most easily identifiable members in the Company of Dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield. In the movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey they are the first two dwarves that show up at Bilbo’s door, and manufacturer The Bridge Direct wisely decided to offer them together in a 2-pack, although I am pretty sure that each would have sold well individually.
Bilbo Baggins & Gollum 2-Pack
Manufacturer The Bridge Direct did a rather unusual thing with their 4-inch line of toys based on the movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. They produced individually carded figures of some of the main characters, but most of these are also offered in 2-packs alongside characters that are not currently available in individual presentation. One such set is the one I’m reviewing today, the one with Bilbo Baggins and Gollum.
Thorin Oakenshield
Today I’m reviewing Thorin Oakenshield from the 4-inch action figure line by The Bridge Direct for the promotion of the movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Thorin is the leader of the Dwarves that go seeking advise from Gandalf and end up signing up the services of a professional burglar to help them regain their long lost treasure.
Gandalf the Grey
The subject of today’s review is the 4-inch, individually carded version of Gandalf the Grey produced by The Bridge Direct to promote the movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Grinnah the Goblin
Grinnah the Goblin is one of the many malevolent creatures seen in Peter Jackson’s movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and one of the characters made as a four-inch action figure by manufacturer The Bridge Direct.
Riddles for the Ring Lego Set
I love Lego. However, since they aren’t the main focus of my collection, I tend to stay away except for the occasional clearaence item or the blind bagged minifigures. I was extremely happy when I saw this set was coming and nabbed it the first time I saw it. This is the Riddles for the […]
