R2-D2 (Star Wars Buddies)

Who would expect a hard metallic character like R2-D2 to make such a cute plush? Yes, he’s a fan favorite, but I never thought of him as warm and cuddly.

And really he’s a pretty well done. There were plenty of ways they could have cheaped out here and didn’t. The only place they did, was not printing the back.

Most of his detail is printed on fabric. Kind of like the much maligned Star War bathing suits. Here though, they pretty much stuck with R2’s classic details. Printed in blue and balck there’s really nothing to complain about with the printing.

One neat feature is that R2’s head is made from silvery fabric with printed details. The silver works pretty well, and has some shimmer appeal.

I’m sure for kids and R2 fans, this would be a pretty nifty collectible to have. He’s a pretty cool rendering of R2 in a soft squishee way.
