Ghillie Suit Sniper (Call of Duty)

Another of the smaller, individual figure sets released by Mega Bloks in their 2014 Call of Duty assortment is this Ghillie Suit Sniper (set #06852). It has 42 pieces that are used to build both for the figure and a small terrain piece.

The Sniper figure uses the basic BDU molds for the body, but has a unique piece for the hat as well as a ghillie suit piece that slides over his head and clicks onto the hard point sculpted at the back of his belt piece. The overall look is well accomplished, in my opinion, although the bulky cloak limits somewhat the articulation.
CoD Sniper Ghilie (7) As usual, the Ghillie Sniper comes articulated with:

•Ball jointed neck.

• Pegged hinge shoulders.

• Pegged hinge elbows.

• Swivel wrists.

• Swivel waist.

• Ball jointed hips.

• Hinged knees.

CoD Sniper Ghilie (6) The amount of sculpted details on the Ghillie gear is nice, although the color palette selected for this character tends to muddle it a little, which I guess is the whole point of wearing this type of garments.
The paint operations are very basic consisting mostly of a shading wash liberally applied all over the figure, but painted deco like the eyes and the boots are neatly applied.

The Ghillie Sniper doesn’t have as many points to attach accessories as other figures in the Call of Duty sets and other than the cloak, it includes only a sniper rifle that uses the same generic grip and ammo magazine pieces although with new stock, barrel and scope accessories.

The small terrain piece included is rather unimpressive, though. Its meant to represent the corner of a small building in a jungle environment, and it features what is meant to be some sort of motion-detecting device represented by an upright plastic grate on one side, as well as a couple pieces of foliage that can be moved around to make space to place the sniper minifigure.

Although I still feel small sets like these are not quite as balanced in the coin-to-brick ratio, the Ghillie Suit Sniper minifigure is quite unique within this line and I think that is reason enough to pick up this set.
