Name That…Warrior Dude
I think this figure looks like he has a Transformer head. But, that’s probably just me.
Name That…Dark Crystal
No, not THE Dark Crystal. I wouldn’t do anything that easy. But, this one should be easy.
X-Men Minimate DVD 4-Pack (Part 1)
This is one of those things I’ve had for a lonnnngggg time and never quite got around to reviewing. In the first of 2 parts, I’m taking a look at two of the figures from the Marvel Minimates X-Men DVD 4 pack. This one came from Toys R Us along with a DVD of X-Men: […]
Gamorrean Guard
Out of all of the figures comprising wave 3 of the Star Wars Vintage Collection by Hasbro, the Gamorrean Guard was right at the top spot of my list.
Elder Predator (Takara)
The Elder Predator (MA-15) figure was released back in 2005 as part of Takara’s Alien VS Predator line. The Elder wasn’t as popular as the Scar and Celtic Predators or even the Alien Warrior I reviewed some time ago, but it’s still a very impressive figure.
Name That…Heroic Dude
People will be surprised by this one, as it isn’t something that I would normally use for this game.
Club Hair For GI Joe
I can’t remember how I happened on this website, but I thought it interesting enough to bookmark. With new 12 inch GI Joes coming this year, I imagine (and hope) we will see a resurgence of interest in the older figures. That said, I’ve seen some vintage Action Team figures in sad shape. Have no fear, […]
Name That…Step Up
My first boss once told me if I wanted a raise to go stand on a paint bucket in back.
Embo
Embo is one of the best ever figures to come out of the Clone Wars line, in my opinion. The figure is well equipped and articulated, plus the character design is plain cool. Add to that that bounty hunters are the rockstars of the Star Wars Universe, and you have a surefire winner in your hands.
Kevin Flynn’s Lightcycle
The original Syd Mead lightcycle design, iconic as it may be, always had this abstract art feel to it, with it’s smooth, clean geometry. The new “vintage” lightcycle design presented in Tron Legacy has a more “realistic” feel to it even though it retains all of the key design elements from the 1982 concept.
Cover Girl (GI Joe)
Even though I got her on clearance, thought she was ugly in the package, I was impressed with her in the end.
Wooof
You know the old phrase by Shakespeare “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet”? Well, something similar can be applied here, as even though the card states that the character name is officially Wooof, he’ll always be Klaatu to me
SyFy’s “Face Off” Makes Me Rethink My Career Choice
From a very early age I’ve had a fascination with movies and TV shows. Not only the shows themselves but the technical aspects of how they are made. And since I lean towards sci-fi and fantasy genres, these things typically include special effects and make up. Back in my day, there wasn’t an internet to […]
DIY Comic Book Binding
Dozymuppet from the Action Figure Blues forum shares his custom hardcover comic book binding project.
Rogue & Beast Minimates
Well, you knew if I had Gambit, I was going to have get the set with Rogue. I have to say that would have seemed like the more natural pairing for a two pack. I suppose they sell more this way. Both of these Minimates are again their 90’s versions. And I’m really okay with […]
Han Solo (Echo Base Outfit)
I have never really identified with Han Solo, and accordingly, I have not been too keen in keeping up with the newer action figures released for the character. Back when the line up for the first wave of the new Vintage Collection was announced, the Echo Base Han Solo was one I did not plan to get at launch date.
