Clone Commander Neyo

Do you know which unique character from the 3.75-inch Star Wars Black Series shares a lot of pieces with two other figures released in the same wave?  Why, it’s no other than Clone Commander Neyo!

Commander NeyoHowever, there are some interesting differences other than paint and accessories that set Neyo apart from his vat-grown brethren.

Starting with the basic, Neyo uses the same limbs and lower body than the newer Clone Trooper figures released since 2013, although the head is a different sculpt with a marked likeness to actor Temuera Morrison.

Also, it turns out that the torso mold displays a number of additional sculpted details not present in the basic troopers. Neyo’s helmet is also a newly sculpted piece as well as the new belt/webgear attachment.

Fortunately, the newly sculpted pieces don’t get in the way of the articulation, which remains comprised of:

Commander Neyo (6)• Ball jointed neck.

• Pin & disk shoulders.

• Pin & disk elbows.

• Pin & disk wrists.

• Floating torso.

• Pin & disk hips.

• Pin & disk knees.

• Pin & disk ankles.

Neyo’s paintjob further sets him apart from previous versions, as this time around the white armor plates received a copious amount of washes to simulate the grime and filth from the battlefield.

The overall look is quite realistic although it appears that not all the parts that conform this figure got quite the same amount of wash, which sort of enhances the random nature of this paint operation.

On the other hand, Neyo’s armor also has a number of markings identifying him as part of the 91st Reconnaissance Corps, all painted in a deep red hue and placed neatly onto the armor.

Commander Neyo (5)As an interesting detail, Neyo also has a tattoo on his face, done in green running downwards beneath his left eye. The tattoo reads “CT-8826” in aurebesh, which is the clone designation for Neyo.

Other than the removable, helmet, the only other piece of equipment included with Neyo is a standard blaster carbine with no decorations whatsoever.

Out of the three clones included in this wave of figures from the Star Wars Black Series, Clone Commander Neyo is definitely the one to pick up first, being a named character and also because this is a really good action figure to have.

I've been collecting action figures since the original Kenner Star Wars days. Nowadays, I still collect pretty much anything that catches my eye.
