Marauder Shotgun, Sniper Rife & Knife

April 18, 2012 | By More

I realize I’ve been a bit remiss in not getting back to review the rest of the Marauder items I bought awhile back (Click Here for the previous review). Of course, in the mean time I made a second order. That should tell you something right there. Some how the stuff I picked seemed perfect for fighting Zombies

Dragonov Sniper Rifle w/Bipod

This item is picture above with Scarlet. I have a couple of rifles from different figures, but none of them just looked like what I really wanted. I was on rifle team in high school and I was always fascinated by the guns used by our top shooters. This reminds me of them.

This isn’t a rifle for the average green shirt. This type of rifle would be adjusted and rigged out for a single sniper. The perfect weapon for taking out Zombie Vipers at long range. A folding bipod will let you set up and zero them in.

I have to say I’m pretty impressed with this piece. Every thing is pretty solid. It also doesn’t feel like too bendy or too brittle. It’s just well done all the way around. I had this before I made my second order, and it’s a big part of why I made a second order. It just looks super detailed, and well, pretty darn cool.

Combat Shotgun w/Shells

I didn’t mean to order Zombie fighting weapons it just happened. I was actually inspired to get this shotgun due to a game. I’ve been playing Rainbow Six Vegas to get my shoot on lately, and this shotgun has turned into one of my favorite close quarters weapons. I believe this is based on the SPAS-12. Which is a bit out of date, but still a common gun to see in games and on film.

After getting this gun, I was really impressed. I had previously ordered the individual shells for a project in my first order. I was surprised to find the small lug on the back of them. Now I get it. That lug allows these to plug into two different places on the gun. Both of these places are common for tactical weapons.

The gun itself looks great. The detail is fantastic. Honestly, when I put this in the Renegades Duke’s hands, it just looked perfectly real.

Combat Knife

I order a couple different knives this time around. My dad had a very similar Air Force survival knife he used for camping and fishing when I was a kid. So, I had to see what this one looked like.

This knife is a bit bigger than I thought it would be. It’s not bad, but it isn’t going to fit in any of the built in knife sheaths on figures. You might be able to tuck it in under a tactical vest, though.

This is big old knife. The serrations add a bit to it for sure. I might add a little brown paint to the handle just for a little oomph.

Overall:

Yeah, I seem to have outfitted my Renegades figures for fighting Zombie Vipers. I didn’t intend too, but it worked out well. Great customer service, easy transaction, and well detailed accessories, I can’t say enough good about Marauder.

And don’t forget series 6 is releasing late this month, I know I am chomping at the bit to order those. I have several Marauders pieces including the 2 guns you reviewed here, just outstanding stuff, I wasn’t sure what to expect the first time I ordered but the plastic is just perfect, not flimsy or brittle and the detailing is amazing. Great stuff, great review!

I can see the throwing stars being hugely popular.
