Geeks For Tots!

Geeks For Tots!

Monday is normally reserved for reviews and discussion of Superheroes. However, we’re coming up on the time of year when us mere mortals can step up and be heroes. Most of us spend the year tracking down the most elusive action figures and toys to make ourselves happy, but by giving toys up, we can make […]

Landspeeder (Vintage Die Cast)

I think it’s easy to forget that Star Wars was the first licensed toy line to really take off with action figures. Because of that, I don’t think Kenner really knew what would hit. That is why the early days included Play Doh, vans, role play items, etc. One of the more unique lines from the early Kenner […]

Sergeant Forge

I have not played Halo Wars. I will not play Halo Wars. Despite the mostly positive reviews that game accrued, for me the meat of the Halo universe are the shooting games and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Snow Job (Vintage)

Yes, I’m aware most of you were expecting to read a Black Dragon review this week. Well, I wasn’t happy with the pictures. It will be soon, though. So instead I put this vintage Joe review together as penance. As much as I didn’t like my Black Dragon pictures, I really don’t like taking pictures of […]

Whiplash (Mega Bloks)

I thought since there was a new series of Marvel Mega Bloks figures, I’d tempt fate and get one. I ended up with Whiplash from Iron Man 2. I needed a bad guy to go with War Machine and Spidey, so it’s not all bad. Appearance: Any likeness to Mickey Rourke is purely coincidental. That’s […]

Spartan Military Police Custom (Blue Team)

I must say that I was not immediately taken with McFarlane’s Halo: Reach line. I started buying the figures when they debuted their Halo 3 line-up, but the Reach Spartans were not an immediate hit with me.

Cobra Air Trooper (Black Dragon Pilot)

Included with the Black Dragon is a requisite pilot figure. Similar to the VAMP, this vehichle comes with a generic driver instead of a named pilot. This pilot is generic enough that if it wasn’t for the one small Cobra insignia, he could have came from either side of the GI Joe/Cobra battle lines. Appearance: […]

And The Vinner Is….

I have to say I’m really please with the interaction and participation in the contest. A huge thanks to our sponsor Figure of the Day. Remember to go check them out every day, as there is a new figure a day (Clever!). So without further ado…selected through a scientific double blind process by Mrs. Nerd…Pocket […]

Logray

I must confess that I was not particularly excited to learn that there would be a new release of this character in Hasbro’s 2011 Vintage Collection. To my eye, the Kenner vintage one still holds it’s own against the more recent POTF version, and after seeing the other, updated ewoks that have ben released in the past few years, I didn’t think there would be a significant improvement.

I want to open this and say I’m not vinyl collector. I love most of the new urban vinyl stuff I see, and can appreciate it. Some of that stuff is crazy cool. I do however love my Android phone. When I saw this little guy on Think Geek, I thought he’d make a cool […]

Red Skull Redux

With the “Talk to the Skull and Win!” contest ending at Midnight yesterday, it’s a bit apropos that I’m talking about the Red Skull today. (Don’t worry, the contest winner will be announced as soon as they’ve been confirmed by email.) First, I was discussing the silent version of “Phantom of the Opera” with talented artist […]

Chewbacca (Star Wars Buddies)

Of course, they made a Chewbacca Star Wars Buddy. Who wouldn’t want their own cuddly Wookie? Chewie looks more like a Boyd Bear than anything else to me. Mostly do to the face. Which also makes him look like our wonder pup, Madison. Pretty typical teddy bear style nose and eyes are used to make […]
