Pax Bonkik
Well, it’s been some time since this action figure was released in the Star Wars 30th Anniversary Collection, but it was only recently that I finally got hold of it at a local convention.
Ultron
The subject of today’s review is one of the rare villains that I actually knew a little about from his brief appearance in the Secret Wars story arc, back in the 90’s. I am referring, of course to Ultron; one of the characters released in the second half of action figures in the Iron Man Legends line by Hasbro.
501st Legion Clone Trooper
Well, even though this figure was released sometime last year, Hasbro saw fit to include the 501st Legion Clone Trooper (VC60) in the “Greatest Hits” wave in the now-paused Star Wars Vintage Collection, which recently afforded me the chance to add it to my collection.
Thor (Battle Hammer)
With the second Thor movie a few weeks away from opening at theaters, I still have not found a single merchandise item at local stores. However, I was not entirely denied, as I did acquire and action figure from the previous movie line.
Cosmic Strike Red Skull (Avengers Assemble)
So, after a rather lengthy drought at stores, the new action figures associated to the Avengers Assemble cartoon are finally trickling down at my usual jaunts.
Clone Trooper Hevy
Way back in the first season of the Clone Wars animated series we got introduced to a group of novice group of clones that repelled a Battle Droid invasion on a distant but vital outpost.
Joker DC Mystery Mini Vinyl Figure Review
Mrs. Nerd subscribed me to Nerd Block a couple months ago and the second one struck all the right notes with me. The first thing was a really cool Darth Vader t-shirt. The second was a DC Mystery Mini blind box. While it would have been nice to get a Batman, this Joker wasn’t a […]
Big Time Spider-Man
Big Time Spider-Man was released in the Marvel Legends line as part of the Arnim Zola wave, and he is depicted in a full black suit with bright green lines forming the spider symbol on his chest and running alongside his limbs.
Sweetums
It’s really ironic when I think about it. Yes, you probably know I’m a recovering Star Wars collector. But, the two lines I was really collecting that caused me to create TVFT were The Muppets and World of Springfield Simpsons. Strangely, there aren’t a whole lot of reviews here for either of those. So I […]
Dutch (Jungle Extraction)
Right from the start, I knew that I would go for the Jungle Extraction Dutch. Even though Arnold Schwarzenegger appears only during the first third of the movie in this uniform, I think this is the look that better depicts his character.
Rhino
One of the aspects I like most about collecting the Marvel Universe line is that characters with unusual bulk and design get released on a fairly regular basis, which adds a nice amount of variety to any action figure display.
Yoda (Clone Wars)
To finish off the review of the Clone Wars Gift Pack I got, today I’ll be taking a gander at Jedi Master Yoda.
Kaiju Kaos Set Pieces
You may have noticed a grave in the background of my Merle Dixon review. I’m always looking for cool things to put in pictures just to keep them interesting, and as you probably know, I love action figure accessories. The grave is one of three accessories I picked up from Kaiju Kaos / Acheson Creations […]
Merle Dixon
It took along time before I became sympathetic to the character of Merle Dixon on The Walking Dead. I’ve got a redneck streak, but it mainly involves duct tape, flannel and a love of deep fried food. I don’t carry the hatred that Merle exhibited from the very start. In the end though, Merle came […]
Elektra
Even though I never really read Daredevil comics growing up, Elektra is one of those secondary characters that kick started the whole Ninjas-Are-Cool trend back in the day so, she was one of the characters I wanted the most to see in action figure form when the Marvel Universe line started.
ARC Commander Blitz (Defend Kamino Battle Pack)
ARC Commander Blitz shares the same molds for upper legs, torso and upper arms with the regular non-removable helmet clones but his appearance is strikingly different thanks to a number of newly tooled pieces.
Lady Jaye (Retaliation)
I began collecting G.I. Joes rather late in the game. I never got the chance to find several of the characters that made frequent appearances in the cartoons nor the comic books. One of those was Lady Jaye, so I jumped at the chance to add her to my collection as she came out in the G.I. Joe Retaliation line by Hasbro.
Iron Patriot (Pop! Vinyl Bobble Head)
Since I already reviewed War Machine, this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Since I saw him for a good price, I really couldn’t pass up getting get the repainted movie version of Iron Patriot. I’m not a huge fan of the colors for a weapon armor, but, he looked pretty cool so I […]
Claw General Zod
After getting one Superman figure from Mattel’s Man of Steel line, I decided to round up my collection with a more visually interesting character.
Echo & Fives (Defend Kamino Battle Pack)
This is one of the Battle Packs released in 2011, inspired by one of the more memorable episodes in the third season of the Clone Wars TV show.
