Darth Vader
For a character that hasn’t had more than a couple of outings in the Star Wars Vintage Collection by Hasbro, Darth Vader is certainly one that I didn’t feel the need to get once again. However, the latest Darth Vader (VC93) does represent a fairly needed update.
Sub-Zero (Mortal Kombat Klassics)
The other day, I was at a store, perusing the action figure pegs and I came across a 4 inch. Sub-Zero figure that looked substantially different than the one I reviewed not long ago. A closer inspection revealed that Jazwares made another line of MK figures under the “Klassic” moniker, and this was one of them.
Professor X
Released as the 22th figure in Hasbro’s Marvel Universe Series 4, Professor X is a very interesting addition to the line for a couple of reasons.
Anakin Skywalker
Well, as you may recall, back when Hasbro announced a new action figure line devoted to the then new CGI Clone Wars show, one question that popped up every now and then was if there would be figures made from the characters in the show, done in the realistic style.
Summer of GI Joe Contest Part 3
Okay, so GI Joe is taking the summer off. The Joes and Cobras are doing some of those mundane things that we all do during the summer. To soothe your angst, Figure of the Day is sponsoring another TVFT caption contest! The prize? Well, Joes of course! There’s nothing better than winning free figures. Maybe […]
Battle Hammer Thor
Well, once I got over the articulation hurdle, I began getting more of the Avengers movie line figures by hasbro, with yet another Thor at the forefront.
Jabba The Hutt Statuette
I know, I don’t normally review statues. But, this one of the few that I have. Well, two that I have. This is an Applause statue of Jabba and Leia done in faux bronze. I know these days most of these types of statues come painted. Honestly though, I kind of like the bronze tone. […]
Summer of GI Joe Contest Part 2
Okay, so GI Joe is taking the summer off. The Joes and Cobras are doing some of those mundane things that we all do during the summer. To soothe your angst, Figure of the Day is sponsoring another TVFT caption contest! The prize? Well, Joes of course! There’s nothing better than winning free figures. Maybe […]
Marvel’s Hawkeye
I wasn’t really expecting to see more of Hasbro’s Avengers line locally. I mean, the things seem to sell at a steady, albeit slow pace, but in my experience the stores in my city rarely order anything after the first wave of movie-related figures up until Christmas. With that in mind, it was very surprising to find Marvel’s Hawkeye hanging there on a peg the last time I went grocery shopping.
Clone Commander Cody (CW7)
It has been quite some time since I bought (or even found) any Clone Wars figure. With Hasbro’s resources stretched thin between all of their lines in production, in 2012 we are not getting as much Clone Wars product as last year and some of the figures shipping in 2012 are re-issued from last year.
Android 2-Pack (SDCC 2012 Exclusive)
As far as phones go, I can’t bring myself to drink the fruit juice. I have an Android phone I love. So it made sense when I found a vinyl figure of the cute little mascot for Google’s operating system, that I would pick it up. That turned out to be a dangerous path, since […]
Summer of GI Joe Contest Part 1
Okay, so GI Joe is taking the summer off. The Joes and Cobras are doing some of those mundane things that we all do during the summer. To soothe your angst, Figure of the Day is sponsoring another TVFT caption contest! The prize? Well, Joes of course! There’s nothing better than winning free figures. Maybe […]
Iron Man (Classic Comic)
Since I’ve been playing Avengers Alliance on Facebook, I’ve had desire to add some comic style figure to fill out some of my Marvel lines. Since Iron Man figures are still fairly available on clearance round these parts I picked up a comic version of Iron Man. Appearance: Right up front the thing that drew […]
Grand Moff Tarkin
Well, if there ever was one character I absolutely thought that belonged in the Star Wars Vintage Collection by Hasbro, it is Grand Moff Tarkin.
Carter (Series 5)
Well, after five series of action figures based on the Halo: Reach license, there is only so much you can do to keep market interest high series after series, especially when the line relies in reusing three or four basic body molds for everything.
Marauder Vector
I swear ever time I watch Sons of Guns I learns something about guns and GI Joe. This week I learned that the guns shown in the new Total Recall are Kriss Vectors. It’s also the same type of gun that came with the POC Dusty. When I first saw this gun, I really thought […]
Iron Man Mk.VII (Fusion Armor)
Well, after getting the Shield Launcher Captain America from the Avengers line and seeing it was not as bad as I feared, I convinced myself to go ahead and buy another figure, this time the Iron Man Mk.VII armor from the Movie Series sub-line.
Luke Skywalker (Lightsaber Construction)
Well, it took some time, but finally Hasbro produced the Luke Skywalker figure they should have put out back when they released the Jedi Knight Luke last year on the cardback with the scene from Jabba’s Palace, although this version of Luke Skywalker (VC87) is based on one of the deleted scenes included as an extra for the Blu-Ray release of the original trilogy.
Seth
The figure I’m reviewing today is probably the less exciting from Jazwares’ Super Street Fighter IV line. Seth is famed for being something of a disappointment as far as end game boss characters go because of his character design and because his techniques are copied from the special moves used by other characters in the game.
A Cobra Named Joe #2
Oh, poor Joe Cobra! He just never seems to catch a break. (If you missed the Joe’s first appearance, check it out here.) (Clicking the picture will enlarge it.)
