Spider Man (Super Poseable)
Roughly at the same time Hasbro started making their Marvel Universe line, they also launched the Fiercest Foes of Spiderman line. Not unlike the Marvel movie licensed lines, this figures are done in the same scale as the Marvel Universe figures, but there are important differences in terms of figure design.
Jean Grey & Cyclops (90′s) Minimates
Yes, if Marvel Monday falls on Valentines day there are only a couple of choices for a review, I’m picking the other one. Jean Grey & Cyclops.
Gambit & Psylocke Minimates
I don’t collect a lot of superhero stuff, but you know I couldn’t pass up a mini figure of Gambit…
Havok
One thing you’ll notice shortly after starting reading comics, is how much alike the storylines are when compared to soap operas. You get betrayals, long lost relatives, amnesia and people that just won’t stay
Iron Man Mk.VI (Power Up Glow)
As a matter of principle, I usually shun gimmick figures. In most cases these features are either hideous to look at or mess with the articulation in some way. In the case of this Iron Man figure it is the later scenario but as it turns out, the end result is quite above tolerable in that regard.
Luke Cage
Luke Cage (a.k.a. Power Man) was released in 2010 as part of the second (H.A.M.M.E.R.) series of figures in the Hasbro’s Marvel Universe line. For this series, Hasbro upped the ante by offering a few new body types with unique sculpts.
Retro Review – Daredevil (Marvel Superhero Showdown)
Although Hasbro seems to be doing rather well nowadays with their Marvel Universe figures, they were not the first ones to make 1:18 scale Marvel characters.
Storm & Nightcrawler (Secret Wars Comic Pack)
The figures I’m reviewing today come packaged together as part of the Secret Wars assortment of Marvel Universe Comic Packs by Hasbro.
“The Amazing Spiderman – The Mark of the Man-Wolf” Book & Record
I know some of the kids out there are saying, “Records?” But yes, I’m old enough to have had child hood that involved small spinning discs that were of the non-digital variety. Back in our day, this was about as interactive as entertainment got. This was long before Leap Frog and the kinds of interactive toys that are around today.
Iron Man Mark VI – Iron Man 2
This was actually one of the first of the Iron Man 2 figures I bought. Why did I wait so long to review it? Well, I really wanted to wait until I saw the film to understand if there was really anything different in this suit.
Iron Man Mark V – Iron Man 2
The concept behind the Mk. 5 Iron Man armor is fairly simple. Regular Iron Man armor is not that easy to transport nor conceal, therefore Stark developed a bare-bones version that can be lugged around in the form of a large suitcase.
Iron Man Mark II – Iron Man 2
So, What can be said about the Mk.2 armor? The easiest thing is to simply say this is a repaint of the exact same mold used for the Mk.3 armor (and that would be nothing but the truth), although that wouldn’t do this figure justice.
War Machine -Iron Man 2 (Movie Version)
After being truely enthralled with the comic version of War Machine, I couldn’t help but pick up the movie version of the character. The early photos and promo materials show that on screen War Machine is much like his comic book namesake. He’s bigger and more heavily armed than the armored suit that Tony Stark wears. We […]
Iron Man Mark I – Iron Man 2
Among the figures Hasbro released as part of the first series of figures in the Iron Man 2 toy line is the Iron Man Mk.1. This particular figure depicts the very first powered armor made by Tony Stark in the 2008 Iron Man movie.
Iron Man Mark III – Iron Man2
Hasbro released Iron Man Mk.3 in 2010 as part of the first series of figures in the Iron Man 2 toy line. This particular release is from the Movie Series of figures, which uses the design seen onscreen for both of the Iron Man movies.
War Machine – Iron Man 2
I should start this by clarifying that this is the comic version released as part of the Iron Man 2 movie line. There should be a couple more versions coming out of the movie version of War Machine. If you’re not a big fan of Iron Man, you will want to know that this is […]
Alpha Flight Desktop Wallpaper
I had started reading Alpha Flight about halfway through the first series. At that point, Marvel decided to take the book subscription only or comic shop distributed. Without a comic shop in my hometown, I ended up not getting anymore of them. When ToyBiz brought out their Alpha Flight 2-packs, I couldn’t resist this one. […]
1975 Comic Book Ads
We recently started watching Smallville. This led Mrs.Nerd to ask the question, “Who’s Green Lantern?” I gave her a brief synopsis of what I could remember and tried to describe his Super Friends outfit for her to no success. In order to show her, I decided to go to my comic archives. I have a long […]
